Hi, my name is Mika Deane. I am originally from England, but I grew up in New Zealand. I have been playing tennis ever since the age of 5 and have always enjoyed it. Growing up in New Zealand, I got to play many tennis tournaments at Regional, National and even International level. I graduated high school in December of 2010 and started college at Barton College in Wilson, North Carolina in Spring of 2011. Which now makes me a Sophmore. I had my first college tennis season in Spring 2011. I played number 1 on the team and had a really good season, only losing 3 singles conference matches. I love playing on a college team and I wish to continue my college tennis career. Unfortunately Barton College does not offer the Major that I want (which is Geography and English), and therefore that is the reason why I am hoping to transfer. I believe that playing college tennis has helped me improve my game and has helped me become more experienced. This spring will be my second season of tennis, and I am looking forward to improving and gaining even more experience. I believe that I have made a great contribution to Barton College tennis, and I hope that I can make a significant contribution to another college team starting in Fall 2012.
