A former ATP top 100 player (No.65 in 1975 & No.75 in 1982) Jeff represented New Zealand in The Davis Cup on numerous occassions and won 9 international tour tournaments during his playing career.
A swift transition from playing to coaching meant that in 1983 Jeff became an international touring coach to many of the worlds top ATP and WTA players. In 1983 he began coaching Chris Lewis, who went on to reach a Wimbledon final in that same year and also achieved an ATP world ranking of No.19 during his career.
Jeff went on to coach Ivan Lendl in 1987-89, during which he achieved the ATP ranking of number one in the world at the US Open. Other notable players that Jeff has coached include Kelly Evernden (ATP No.31), Brett Steven (ATP No.32) and Belinda Cordwell (WTA No.17).
Previous roles also include being a former Davis Cup captain and National Director of Coaching and Player Development. Jeff has been working at the Regional centre in northern New Zealand since 2000 and through-out his coaching career has gained vast experience placing athletes in American Universities on sports scholarships.

Play Atlantic are happy to announce the appointment of Steven Hill as their Head Representative in Canada.
Steve is a native of Kitchener Ontario and brings a wealth of experience and expertise to the Play Atlantic team. He is a recent graduate from Cumberland University, where he gained a bachelor degree in physical science. Alongside this he represented the university soccer team as captain and was an assistant coach in his final year.

Play Atlantic is going to be welcoming Julie Salmon to our worldwide team of Representatives. Amongst her many achievements, Julie has twice reached the third round of Wimbledon, is a former Great Britain international and played on the WTA tour for 12 years.
Julie is now the Director of Tennis at St Bedes Day and Boarding School. Located in East Sussex, UK, St Bedes School is one of the top academic and sporting schools in the country, winning numerous National titles, including their most recent, the U15 Boys National tennis title in 2008.
Because of her proximity to a number of high performance athletes, Julie is able to advise on those who are suitable for American scholarships.
Director Charles Bartlett says "I am really looking forward to working with Julie, I have always admired her work as a tennis coach and I know that Play Atlantic will benefit directly from her expertise.

Over the last two years Dan has been at the centre of the debate around sport in schools and sports competition in general. He regularly writes for Spiked on-line, several national newspapers and is often asked to contribute to documentaries on radio. He has recently set up a facebook group on bringing back Sports Days to schools and recently met with the Sports minister to discuss this problem. Dan is a great believer in Facebook as a way to motivate people to action on issues of the day.
When he was approached by one of the founder members of Playatlantic to join the team Dan jumped at the chance: he has coached many players who finding themselves at that pivotal age of 17/18 unsupported in their attempts to develop a career in tennis. He sees sporting scholarships in the USA as a very positive and unique experience for any sportsman or woman; allowing many enthusiastic players who never dreamt that it was possible to enjoy their sport whilst developing a career in a country which is so vibrant and positive about sport.
Play Atlantic would like to welcome new Head Representatives in both France and Italy.
Both Marc Lefebvre and Yves Latreilles are our joint Head Representatives in France. They are both highly qualified tennis coaches, who have worked around the world with many leading players. They are also Directors of a coaching company in France and Egypt called Evolutions Sports Concept, www.evolutions-sports-concept.com
In Italy we have appointed Vincenzo Santoleri as our Head Representative. Vincenzo has a wealth of experience on the Italian tennis circuit as a player as well as with-in both the business legal sectors.
